Is Being An Instagram Influencer Truly Sustainable?

I love being surrounded by like minded boss babe … hold the babe who are trying to make an impact in the world and to be able to have a true Sunday Funday that was filled with both work and life talks.

My friend Hannah of Eat Drink & Save Money is one of those people who sees a problem and likes to come up with a solution.  With this mindset, she has created a successful blog and is now working on a new brand that can help future generations to come.

When we had our talk, it was interesting to have her explain how using sustainable products does not truly make you sustainable.  Due to our current process, it does not always allow consumer to truly help out mother earth.

Over time, however, it became more and more apparent that recycling by itself is not enough.  Plastic and paper waste may be addressed by recycling, but what about certain food waste?  Food waste is rampant, and the statistics are staggering.  1.3 billion tons of food are wasted totaling a loss of $1,000,000,000,000.  Yes- One Trillion Dollars!  Instead of wasting the scraps in land-fills and throwing away trillions of dollars, why not allow Naples Compost to take your food scraps and turn it back into  nutrient rich/fertile soil that can be used by yourself or farmers to improve crop growth? This process is known as “closing the loop.”  Help yourself, your children and the environment around us by composting and turning your scraps into soil for a better tomorrow.  Contact us today to learn more!

Here’s where our conversation really struck home for me.

We are in this age of social media influencers, brands utilizing the word of mouth on the internet to promote their brands and hopefully closing the communication gap.

Now that others are understanding that it’s possible to make an income posting photos of pretty things is realistic, you are also seeing more and more “classes” showing on your feed about how to grow your Instagram and make money using Facebook.

Is it truly a sustainable business?

Here’s the truth. You might wake up one day and a new social platform replaces Instagram and you have to start from square one again.

This is why hosting the #SipandMingle Branding Conference and Market is so important for me because our mission is too help create a sustainable plan for your business.

We are in the days of “I retired my husband!” or “I paid off my debt is 20 days.”

That’s great and everything but did it really happen overnight like you are claiming? Or were you building your influence overtime and that’s why you “sold out” the first night.

There’s is nothing wrong with the hustle… trust me, I have more respect for the next entrepreneur no matter how quick they got their cash (if it’s unethical… not so much). But it’s those who are in the industry’s responsibility to give you the truth, tips and tricks to make sure that your business is sustainable.

Hannah did tell me that she isn’t trying to save the world or change other’s mindset.  But instead, help those who’s mindsets are like hers to give them a solution to a big problem we have on this earth.

That’s exactly why we are hosting our first #SipandMingle Branding Conference and Market because we want to help our community to learn how to build a sustainable brand that will last for years to come.

I’m also very proud to announce that Hannah will also be speaking at the #SipandMingle Branding Conference and Market.  Her workshop is called Authentic Blogging 101: How to break free from algorithms and chasing page views through authenticity.  She will be teaching us how to blog with authenticity.  This course is perfect for Influencers, Bloggers and Boss Babes … Hold the Babe who have a smaller audience. Claim your ticket today to make sure you have a spot for her workshop because it’s going to be a good one!
